Specialized Freight Solutions was founded on March 7th, 2014 in Appleton, Wisconsin. Specialized Freight Solutions (SFS) provides innovative solutions to specialized transportation providers and government agencies alike. We have specialists with industry and government backgrounds related to specialized transport. Government agencies refer to trucking as Freight so hence the name and logo “specialized” for the carriers and “freight” for the government agencies both pointing to collective “Solutions.”
SFS is not a high priced consulting firm. We provide innovative high impact - low cost solutions to our clients. For carriers we understand the need to protect you and your customers bottom line and that some costs cannot be passed onto your customer. We are not in the business of making money on your company’s misfortune. When you hire SFS we are in the project together with you. Miscues or unanticipated things happen in specialized transport and when they do we reduce our fees to help you recover and get back on track.
Like carriers government agencies have highly constrained budgets and need to maximize their return on investment. Here too we provide an affordable hourly rate to our government clients by employing a low overhead business model that gets your agency more productivity and stays within or below your project budget.
The founder and CEO, Peter G. Lynch, was the State Freight Operations Program Manager for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for over six years. He has worked closely with the specialized carriers on mega, super and routine loads and came up with and implemented innovative solutions to transportation challenges from roadway designs to operational and regulatory changes to industry outreach. Peter was hands on and worked in the field with the carriers to understand how the industry works so that effective changes could be developed and implemented. Peter has worked for Michigan DOT in transportation policy for 5 years and also drove truck for 3 years. Peter also processes experience with associations, lobbying, the legal community, and government relations on local, state, regional and national issues. Peter is well regarded for his innovative solutions throughout the specialized carriers and regulatory community. In addition to Peter, SFS has team members with specialized transport industry experience that can assist with the toughest challenges a carrier or government agency may face.
